RO Choir is an English-speaking, creative choir in the center of Rotterdam.
It focuses on group singing, vocal development and artistic collaboration, with a strong emphasis on performances and creative projects.

RO Choir is international by nature, but not positioned as an “expat choir”.
Our members come from different countries and backgrounds as well as native Dutch people feel themselves very comfortable in our choir, and English is our working language.

All rehearsals and communication are conducted in English.

What matters most is commitment, preparation and willingness to grow.

Yes, some experience is strongly recommended.
RO Choir works with structure, preparation and creative interpretation, so it may not be suitable for complete beginners.

We work mainly with:

• film music and soundtracks

• contemporary repertoire

• elements of world music

Examples include The Greatest Showman, Wicked, A Star Is Born, Dune, and original reinterpretations.

RO Choir is not a sing-along or drop-in choir.
We work with preparation, rehearsals, performances and long-term artistic goals.

RO Choir regularly creates professional video productions as part of its artistic work.

New members usually join during our annual trial sessions in June.
This allows you to experience the working format, group dynamic and artistic direction before deciding.

• are looking for casual or irregular singing

• prefer simple repetition without preparation

• feel uncomfortable with movement or creative vocal work

And that’s completely fine. Different choirs exist for different people.

Because RO Choir offers:

In short: this choir has direction.

RO Choir works with a one-year membership.

Annual membership fee:

• €540 per year
  – includes a 10% discount
  – VAT-free (BTW vrijgesteld)

Payment options:

• One full annual payment (€540), or

• Two instalments of €300, paid per half-year

Regardless of the payment option, the commitment is always for one full year.

Plus 15 EUR intake fee at the first payment

The annual fee includes:

• weekly rehearsals

• artistic direction and vocal coaching by the choir director

• studio rental in central Rotterdam

• all learning materials:

  • custom-made arrangements

  • sheet music

  • pre-recorded vocal parts

  • technical mini-lessons and practice guidance

• costume contribution

• festival participation fees
  (which are usually charged separately by choirs in the Netherlands)

A one-time administrative fee of €15 applies upon joining.

Unlike many choirs in the Netherlands, RO Choir includes festival participation fees in the membership fee.
This ensures transparent and predictable yearly costs.

RO Choir membership fees are VAT-free (BTW vrijgesteld).

RO Choir membership is always concluded for one full year.
However, payment can be split into two instalments for convenience.

RO Choir membership is concluded for a fixed period of one year.

• Early termination by the member does not automatically entitle to a refund.

• Membership fees are non-refundable, except in cases explicitly stated in the Terms & Conditions.

In specific situations (e.g. relocation, long-term medical issues), early termination may be considered individually, but:

• this is not guaranteed, and

• partial compensation may apply according to the contract conditions.
